Otto Aldorasi passed away February 21, 2009 and Joe Marino passed away on December 25, 2008.
Both were long term members and contributors to the RTBA as well as to the
entire Ridley community.
Joe arranged for many casino trips and was an integral part of the
annual Thanksgiving baskets donations to Ridley families in need.
Otto was a past president and active in the fund raising for the
RTBA annual scholarship awards.
Both were good friends and will be dearly missed.

Ridley Township Library Planning -
email received from Hal Rosenberg
Library Director:
Ridley Township Public Library is creating its first long-range plan,
and we
would like businesspeople like you to be part of it.
RPA, Inc. was selected as our consulting firm. They will evaluate the
needs
of the community, assess the library's services and facility, and
develop a
long-range planning process. The overall goal is to improve access to
resources and services for all members of our community.
RPA Senior Consultant Patricia Owens would like to meet with the major
stakeholders in our community. You are invited to attend a focus group
on
Wednesday, January 9 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the library's lower
level
story hour room.
The meeting will be informal and will not last longer than ninety
minutes.
Refreshments will be served. All input will be used in the development
of
the long-range plan, which will be completed in late April of 2008.
This is your opportunity to share in creating a "vision" for
our community
library.
Please let me know by Tuesday, December 18 if you can attend. It is
greatly
appreciated.

Thanksgiving Baskets
The Ridley Township Business
Association provides Thanksgiving baskets to selected families in the
Township based upon need. This
year (2006) 25 families received baskets.
Joe Martin, who arranges to obtain
turkeys, bread, canned goods, and other staples for the baskets,
coordinates this annual event. Needless
to say, it is Joe’s efforts that make this happen every year.
Assisting Joe every year is Joe Marino. Thanks to both.
Special
thanks to:
Their
contributions to this event make this possible, and their efforts are
greatly appreciated.
Throughout the year, keep in mind
that we always seek deserving families to receive these baskets.
Let one of our members know of any families in need so that we
can arrange a Thanksgiving basket for delivery next year.

At
the September RTBA General meeting, County Councilman John Whelan spoke
about the Philadelphia International Airport and the FAA and the plan to
change flight patterns that will have an adverse effect on Delaware
County.
The RTBA, along with Delaware County
Council firmly opposes any such changes to flight patterns from
Philadelphia International Airport, and will actively fight and oppose
any such plans.
